You will be seen in Out Patient Department 4 for your appointment. All the staff in the department endeavour to ensure appointments run on time, but we cannot predict how long each consultation may take. We appreciate your prompt arrival and co-operation should you experience a short wait to see a doctor.
Before you see a doctor the clinic nurses will check your blood pressure and pulse, weight and height. We may also need some blood tests to be done. All these tests can help us towards making a diagnosis.
It may be necessary for you to undergo further investigations as a result of your consultation with the doctor. The doctor may request that you undergo some further investigations to help determine the cause of your symptoms. This could be a scan, x-ray, or an endoscopy.
These tests will be carried out at the West Middlesex Hospital at a later date. Should you require any further investigations, your doctor or one of the nurses will provide you with information concerning your tests.
It is important to us that we answer all of your questions relating to your bowel problem. You may find it helpful to write down queries before your appointment.
We welcome your comments on how we can improve our service.
